New HipsterPDA hack for me

July 27, 2006

I’ve adopted a new habit in my moleskine. I’ve seen this before, so it’s not really a new idea, but my twist my be a bit different.

First of all, I am manually creating a week’s calendar on my pages as you can see here

(sorry it’s a little blurry). But as you can see, I’ve split the page up with 1/3 page for each weekday and 1 section split for Saturday and Sunday. I’ve also added a little index of symbols.

The icons give me a quick-glance perspective on where I am at any given time, and the flags are used as loose prioritization. I review the previous day for incomplete items every morning and visit the list throughout the day.

The real trick is that I leave a page or two after each week to keep notes on. This gives my moleskine notes a loosely dated record of thoughts and occurances so that the pages don’t become just random ramblings. I don’t know if this will help anybody, but it’s working for me.

A new personal project

July 26, 2006

My wife’s friend is getting married early next year, and I’d been looking for a personal project to do something different than my day job, so I partnered up with a friend who is smarter than me to work on it. What is it, you ask? I rather not get into the specifics of what it is or does, but it’s definitely cool. I’ll be posting more details soon. (The first sentence is a hint for those of you who are a bit slow).
